This July, Harry Greaves and I were privileged to dedicate two chapels and one "formal" church. It was a real surprise on July 14, as we were visiting several remote mountain ALMI churches, to find that our ministers had planted two new "works," built small chapels, and were ready for us to dedicate them.
On the road to La Lapita were were delayed about an hour as a road made us a dirt causeway where the river had washed out the roadway. Once we arrived we waded through ankle deep mud and a downpour for several hundred yards from the truck to the little church. The folks calmly sat and waited until we arrived and then commenced the dedication. These folks were proud of their little building as we prayed over it and the pastor and deacons.
Next we drove to Villa Nueva (New Village) where another congregation awaited our arrival. Harry was asked to "cut the ribbon" and I was asked to "unlock the doors" and the folks followed us inside for the service. At the conclusion of the church dedication we were asked to dedicate three babies also.
Friday, July 16 saw us leave the Central Highlands and travel to the educational center of the country, Leon City. There we were thrilled to see this fine building standing where once the church worshipped in an empty lot. With much pomp and circumstance the evening was filled with songs, speeches, sermons, prayers and food.
Our hearts were full to see our Lord do more than we could think or ask!
